Problem or Opportunity
Most camera review/comparison websites contain a lot of technical terminology that, although very useful for experienced photographers, is difficult for the casual photographer to understand. We seek to take this opportunity by creating an interactive website about cameras which provides a more visual approach that will appeal to a group of people who enjoy taking photos and want to learn more about different cameras but do not necessarily understand the technical terminology involved with photography.
In order to create a website with content that even a casual photographer can understand, the website will present technical camera specifications and information in a visual manner rather than the usual numerical or terminological manner. The user will navigate the website in an intuitive “clickable map” interactive environment containing visually appealing and easily understandable comparisons and information of different cameras. Information that is to be presented to the user in a visual way will include, but is not limited to, sensor information and comparisons, and high-iso quality information and comparisons. Specifics about the content are enumerated in the project scope.
